The Slow Cyclist
Since 2015 we have crafted and led immersive electric bike journeys far from the tourist trail. Shaped by years of exploration and deep local relationships, our journeys bring joy, foster connection, and leave a positive mark on the communities and wild landscapes we pass through.
In October 2009, our Founder Oli Broom jumped on his bicycle and spent the next 412 days cycling alone to Australia, returning in 2011 with a sense of what travel and tourism, done well, can do for a place and its people. Eventually, The Slow Cyclist was born.

Why Travel With The Slow Cyclist?
We provide electric bikes as standard now. They do as much or as little of the hard work as you wish. On private journeys you may choose a non-electric bike, although we recommend letting the bike take the strain so you can give more energy to the places you travel through.
People are the beating heart of any enterprise. We are no different. From our guests and guides to our UK team and the communities whose lives we touch around the world, we have a responsibility to be a beneficial influence.
We ensure your money goes into local hands, so wherever we can, we stay in locally owned properties. We don't scrimp on comfort though. To ensure a good nights' sleep we carry our own pillows and linen among other home comforts.
How to book
There are two ways to travel with us. You can either travel on a set-date Scheduled Journey or put together your own private party.
